The transfer of WhatsApp chats for Android users may soon be possible without the use of Google Drive.

Meta has been introducing a series of new features for WhatsApp, and it seems the company is on a roll. Most recently, Meta revealed that a single WhatsApp account can now be used on up to four different devices, as well as allowing users to maintain disappearing messages, among other updates. In their ongoing effort to continually add new features, the messaging platform is currently developing an option that will simplify chat transfer for Android users. See below for more information.

WhatsApp Chat Transfers to Become Significantly Easier!

According to WABetaInfo's latest report, WhatsApp users will soon have the ability to transfer chats between two Android devices without relying on Google Drive. This new feature is included in the latest WhatsApp for Android beta build, version 2.23.9.19, and aims to simplify the chat migration process by eliminating the need for Google Drive chat backups.

If you're a beta tester of WhatsApp for Android, you can immediately download this new update from the Google Play Store. The update will include a Chat Transfer option in the Settings menu. Once selected, you'll be presented with a QR code to scan with your new Android device to begin the migration process. This is a convenient feature that will benefit numerous Android users, as it eliminates the need to manually create a Google Drive backup. Refer to the screenshot for a clearer understanding.

Just as a reminder, this feature was tested previously, so there's a good chance it will be available to stable users in the near future. It's unclear whether this feature will only be available for Android users or if it will also be accessible to iOS users.

If you're unable to access this option yet, please be patient. We'll keep you informed about any updates, so stay tuned. Additionally, we welcome your thoughts on the upcoming WhatsApp feature in the comments section below.
