Persona: Phantom of the Night introduces a completely new main character.

Despite already having Persona 5, Persona 5 Royale, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, and Persona 5 Strikers, Sega and Atlus have unveiled yet another spinoff called Persona: Phantom of the Night. Although this may seem like a lot of Persona 5 content, the companies believe that fans can handle even more. Persona Central has translated the announcement, and the mobile game, also known as P5X, will be published by Perfect World Games, a Chinese company. Before dismissing this news, take a look at the trailer:

In my opinion, those clips from the Persona: Phantom of the Night trailer look incredibly impressive, particularly the owl sidekick and character designs. It's worth noting that series designer Shigenori Soejima worked on these, which might explain the high quality. The footage closely resembles the original Persona 5 game, with a mix of exploration, classwork, and turn-based combat. However, it's unclear whether the game will feature a gacha, microtransaction, or payment system, which could potentially be a dealbreaker for some. We'll have to wait and see how these features are implemented during the game's public test on March 29.
The game's storyline features a high school student whose parents are "traveling abroad," leaving them to attend school during the day and battle demons at night. The trailer implies that the story will follow a similar path to the main game, albeit with a new cast of characters, teammates, and possible social links. Additionally, a screenshot from the official site suggests that Joker and his crew will make an appearance in the game.
